History
The story takes back a few years ago. I'm not sure when but maybe 3rd grade when my dad got Photoshop 7.0 but I wasn't interested at all like any other 3rd grader. I got interested in it finally 5th grade I think but I was only trying to make a neopets picture transparent. I still remember very clearly that I used the lasso tool to circle body parts and copying and pasting each part into another document, moving them to the right position and such. I have no idea where that piece of crap is or if I had saved it but I know for sure that it's not finished at all. I think I the the face down but that was it. Since my so called making a picture transparent was such hard work, I quit using PS and barely got on the computer again.>
By the time I moved to New York, in around the begining of 2006 since I got my internet and computer time back, I started making some "layouts" and a neopets petpage that I so called a "site" using only 1 page. Somehow thought that I do an amazing job on making graphics and such but I know that I wasn't at all. And somehow I actually got requests on my horrible graphics not only from my friends at school but also from people online that I didn't know at all. I worked around over 3 hours a day during that time making userlookups and stuff. The pathetic site went all the way to October just on 1 page. On the 25th, I decided to add a music page and actually get quite a few affiliates because before that time I had none at all all because I didn't know what they were! The site that I called "The Charmed G.L.A.M." carried around to umm I think early December when I got frozen on all my accounts.
I then visited some sites that were actually not on neopets and liked the idea of a lot of pages and such so I decided to reopen a new and improved Charmed G.L.A.M. on Bravenet which was suppose to open on Christmas. After a week of coding and stuff, my Bravenet site got a huge ad at the top and bottom of every single page. The site was coded in Iframes so you all know how ugly that would of looked. I quickly moved out of Bravenet and tried my best to finish before Christmas but soon learned that it was almost impossible so I let the plan rot for a while.
In around Feburary I searched for free hosts all over the net. I tried services from God knows how many and they all failed but one for a while. I then discovered the goodness of being hosted so I applied at Serenita-designs.org and I actually got accecpted! I named the site first Enamored Designs but I sounded a bit old so I changed it to Tragic Beauty which sounded a lot better. Tragic Beauty finally opened on the 12th of March and lasted around 4 months because I had asked for a domain in May!
It took my dad and I a week to think up a good name. We finally agreed on Connito. I also searched for hosting all over and finally decided on Bluehost over tons of others. I almost picked 1and1 at the very begining but then decided not to buy it because I read a few reviews and they all said that support was horrible and slow. They didn't and still don't have 24/7 online support! All you can do to get support was to get a ticket or call them! That was the #1 no no. The second one was the number of ftp accounts. You only get 10 ftp accounts for the 2nd and most popular package! Which means that you could only host 9 people which really sucked so it was the 2nd no no. 1 no no is enough but 2? Thats a lot! So I decided on Bluehost with 1000 ftp accounts, Fantastico (1and1 don't have it either!), and 24/7 online/phone/ticket support even though it costed a few bucks more a month with made it around 30 dollars more a year but who cares? Exactly. I thought I was gonna be ready to open this site a month after buying it but as we all know, FINALS! Finally after another month of waiting, Connito opened on July 4th!
I continuously have break downs but I always eventually come back to designing!
